About Us
We grow a diverse market garden on less than one acre in the mouth of Bidwell Canyon. The farm is located on the ancestral lands of the Gidutikad Band of the Northern Paiute Tribe. We practice ecological agriculture focusing on our farm as part of a larger ecosystem. Our gardens are interspersed with native vegetation and we strive to grow food for our family and community while at the same time providing habitat for birds, reptiles, amphibians, and pollinators.
Practices
We grow produce in a hoop house, greenhouse, and caterpillar tunnels as well as low tunnels and in field rows. We do not use any synthetic chemicals or sprays for fertilizer or pest protection. Soil amendments consist of compost and fish/kelp emulsion. This year, we are focusing on using cover crops to build our soil. We protect our plants from pests with row cover and sometimes even picking insects, like cabbage moth caterpillars, off of brassicas with our hands.

We are dedicated to building soil and our community! Our produce is available on the Modoc Harvest Food Hub as well as at the Surprise Valley and Alturas Farmers Markets.
