About Us
We are a three-generation family farm in the mouth of Bidwell Canyon. We grow about one-half acre of produce, tend heritage and newly planted fruit trees, and raise goats and chickens for family milk and eggs. Our gardens are interspersed with native vegetation and we strive to grow food for our family and community while at the same time providing habitat for birds, reptiles, amphibians, and pollinators. We are not as welcoming to other mammals such as rodents, rabbits, squirrels, and deer.
Practices
We grow produce in a hoop house, greenhouse, and caterpillar tunnels as well as low tunnels and in field rows. We do not use any synthetic chemicals or sprays for fertilizer or pest protection. Soil amendments consist of compost, and fish/kelp emulsion. This year, we are focusing on using cover crops to build our soil. We protect our plants from pests with row cover and sometimes even picking insects, like cabbage moth caterpillars, off of brassicas with our hands.

We are dedicated to building soil and our community! Our produce is available on the Modoc Harvest Food Hub as well as at the Surprise Valley and Alturas Farmers Markets.
